New Glasses
I was at a loss for something to photograph today. We took Spike for his favorite walk. I feel that every blade of glass has already been photographed along that trail, not to mention Spike.
I made a pineapple upside down cake with the pineapple that Lindsay and Adisa brought a couple of weeks ago. The recipe calls for tinned pineapple rings so it turned out more like pineapple custard crumble, but it should taste good. It is decidedly not photogenic.
I spent the afternoon finishing up odds and ends. Somehow many days seem to be completely filled with finishing up odds and ends, or just maintaining a basic level of cleanliness around the house, or relative fitness of my person. I have yet to settle down to the next quilt project or even figure out what it is going to be.
I swept up mounds of dog hair, did my back exercises cleaned up the kitchen after the cake blitz and made a neck pillow for Maya. I have been using one for years, and John is a relatively recent convert. One more thing that might help Maya' combat daily migraines.
I was sitting and staring out the window talking to John when he took today's picture of the new specs. I don't wear them all the time and have never liked wearing them very much so these are a revelation. They are light and comfortable, and although they look fragile, they aren't. I would forget I have them on except for the fact that I'm still adjusting to a new prescription.
It's been a pleasant uneventful Sunday. As my friend Terri said once, 'thank goodness for my boring life'.
