Remembrance Service

I went to the war memorial at Ventnor Park today. The Lord Vice-Lieutenant, namely, Brigadier Maurice Sheen, CBE,QVRM,TD,DL represented the Crown at the Remembrance ceremony. To me he is Maurice, the same age as me and our Dad’s cousin. As a boy he was so shy he used to hide behind his Mum’s skirts whenever we met them in town. After the service, he changed into civvies and came to my house for tea and cake plus a good natter.
