Lunch with a view

After rInging and the church service, we took the visiting vicar out to lunch with friends. We ate in the pretty village of Eus, and had a splendid view over the valley and the Canigou mountain. The village has in the past won the accolade of 'les plus beaux villages de France' and sometimes contests the top spot for the sunniest village in France with around 300 days of sunshine per year. After a very pleasant meal, we walked up to the high spot where the church sits, built within the walls of the mediaeval castle.
