Pecan harvest

Best friend Dee called this morning to tell me that she was going to pick up pecans at a friend’s orchard and did I want to come help. The orchard owner would give us a basket if we picked a basket or two for him. He usually charges by the pound. So good deal for us.

So we picked up 4 baskets of pecans and got to bring our basket home. I only kept a half a basket since they had to be shelled. Time consuming labor! But with the cost of pecans at the grocery store it will be worth it. I will have more than enough for holiday baking!
