Canal idylls
I felt strange at first visiting our friends in their new house - I’ve stayed so often in the old one, even on several occasions when they were away and let us have the use of it - that I didn’t know how I’d feel about the change. But one great spin-off has been the new walks we’ve been introduced to, and this morning’s, along the Forth & Clyde canal at Ratho, was just lovely. Apart from the boats, the ducks, the swans and a cormorant it was protected from the worst of the gale-force gusts that have been increasing in severity all day, so we were able to enjoy our slightly muddy tramp in peace.
We left after lunch and came into Edinburgh for a short visit to #1 son. Collie and grandsons maturing fast; cats still in charge. The wind is still howling but it’s apparently 15c out there (it should be about 4c in November).
All very disturbing.
