Helping hand (foot?)

A lovely friend saved the day with a ballet shoe emergency and Katie wanted to show me. 

She was very fizzy in her texts today about them finally being able to have fun boarders swim tonight. It's been benched a couple of times recently due to lack of lifeguards, which disappoints her a lot. 

She told me on the phone tonight that her houseparent is going to make her a "Countdown to Home" jar with jelly beans. Katie liked this. We spent some time finding the happies. She's remembered that she likes her school and that she doesn't want to leave. But she is feeling the absence of Mama a lot. And needs some good sleep.
