Renewal
I am emotionally exhausted today. JoAnn gained a few more percentage points, but she officially conceded, and she wrote a public letter saying, "My hope going forward is that our city will be a place where people of all backgrounds can thrive, where no one is scapegoated because they are poor." It's up to each of us to do all we can to insure that. She will remain on the city council till January, and I know she will do all she can to mitigate the cruelty of the man who will replace her.
This afternoon I took a long walk around my neighborhood, enjoying the light, the leaf-color, the hazy sky. Being outdoors and making photographs always helps me to rebuild my spirits.
