Down The Hatch
I like the way bluejays grab food with their beaks, then give it a toss to direct it into their cheeks. Later they’ll cache these items in a secret location. They can store up to twenty sunflower seeds per visit • Our big boy, Grouch, has not been feeling well for a couple of days so after a conversation with the Vet this morning we brought him in to see her. An examination and blood test ruled out serious illnesses, thank goodness, but neither pointed to exactly what is going on. She sent us home with an appetite stimulant to use once per day for the next few days. Fingers crossed it gets him back on track • Then, while at the Vet’s, MrsP tried doing a good deed for a Vet Tech and ended up falling backwards, onto pavement! Her shin and tailbone are bruised and sore, but she’s mostly embarrassed by it all. She’s currently stretched out on the bed with Grouch and an icepack. Thankfully nothing is broken but it might take a few days before she’s back to her chipper self. Think I’ll make a healing, comforting soup for dinner • Overall the election went better than expected, but who controls the House and Senate remains TBD. I’m grateful that our wonderful Governor was re-elected with a resounding victory over her Trump wannabe opponent - Yippee!!
