The keeper of the keys

Phone for scale. We are the custodians of the keys to the church tonight, so we can open it up for R's funeral in the morning. 

What a mass of practical details there are to deal with. But the undertakers have been fantastic ... the director has an impressive phone contact list that enables him to sort everything from finding a Protestant minister to sourcing a tree within moments. I can see that it must be a satisfying job for someone who is good at relating to people -- knowing that you have helped them at the most difficult time of their lives.

Short of blip inspiration again ... but I spent some time today scouring my archives for photos for my 2023 calendar.
