Would you believe, a subway exit?

For the first time in all my years in New York, I got off the downtown 6 station at the 28th Street stop and found myself in a palace. I have never seen any subway station this glamorously beautiful, not even in Moscow. The steps lead up to the interior of the old New York Life building (pictured in the extra), which is also a gem. What a treat!

(Oh, and the election results seem way better than expected, too. All in all, a surprising day.)
