Taking Shape

Today would have been my mother's 85th birthday. Sadly she passed away 3 years ago.
She was a very enthusiastic gardener and I think some of it has rubbed off. When we moved into our current house, there was a foot of border with 3 plants along the wall. Several years and a lot of spade work has carved out curvy borders and seen many more plants (some from mother's garden, some grown from seed and some bought) added.
This year I am making a more determined effort in weed control and general upkeep.
Strangely - and my brother will appreciate the significance - mother's rhubarb crowns are doing rather well with 10 plants growing vigorously from divisions of the original 2 donated. best seen large
