Violets, Whitwell Wood

Close up of a couple of violets in a fine clump found in Whitwell Wood, north of the village of Whitwell in the far NE corner of Derbyshire. It is a fine beech wood, beautiful in spring and autumn. The season has finally started to develop apace after the painfully slow start.
