Close Thing

Wind and rain didn’t stop the Poppy Appeal collection going ahead in a Town Council supplied gazebo during the morning but one lady making a donation had a lucky escape.
Whilst browsing the Poppies on display she moved forward for a better look just as the wind lifted the gazebo roof causing about a gallon of water to drop just behind her.
I left around midday, collected Paddy and headed to the rugby club, a coffee with the guys and a chat about the electricians coming back in to finish off next Tuesday and Wednesday.
Another hour manning the Poppy Appeal stand, this time at Sainsbury’s before heading home.
