My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

"Remember, remember, the fifth of November..."

Said Jefe and Manda last week. 

"How do you know about THAT?" I asked them. "Do they teach it in US history classes?"

"No, it's from the film 'V For Vendetta'," they replied.

They are SUCH movie-addicts. Even worse than me.

Anyway, people were letting off fireworks all weekend. It was nowhere near as nuts as in the UK, or even Wellington, but enough that we made sure any kitties that came our way were taken care of. 

And hedgehogs too. Although this hairy little fellow looked a bit affronted at having his picture taken.
