Scruffy

A day spent recovering from the exertions of the previous couple of weeks, which culminated in a full-on day yesterday. However, a good night’s sleep helped, so much so that I was able to relieve Smithers of lunch preparing duties, and rustle up this dish of Jamie Oliver’s ‘scruffy veg lasagne’, which comes from his £1 wonders range. It could have done with a bit more browning, but we were so hungry we couldn’t wait any longer!

An impromptu visit from #2 son with our two youngest granddaughters followed, which was a great treat, although I confess I spent a short time investigating the backs of my eyelids which, for some strange reason, were incredibly heavy. We also had a FaceTime with son #1 and our eldest granddaughter before they went off to her school fireworks display.

All in all an enjoyable day, but it will take another good night’s sleep before I’m as bright eyed and bushy tailed as our garden’s resident fox!
