Island
It is a very wet day here in my part of the world.
I was planning to stay in all day but my conscience and a feeling of stagnancy got the better of me and I went for a very soggy walk.
It's amazing how reluctance and misery can become transformed. Less than halfway to the lake my trousers were soaked through and clinging to my legs. I could have let myself turn around and go back home, but I decided to persist and, more, decided to enjoy it. I was wet already, so why not enjoy splashing through the puddles? Why not stand and admire the millions of ripples of rain falling on the lake? Why not confuse the fishermen by offering cheery greetings?
45 minutes later I am back home in cosy pyjamas with a mug of hot chocolate and a half decent photo snapped between the heavier bouts of rainfall, feeling exhilarated and glad I went out.
