Boys' toys

I sometimes get to play with this little toy. It is used by Physics teachers to demonstrate electricity generation and energy conversion. The fuel in the boiler (chemical energy) burns to produce heat (thermal energy) which boils the water to produce steam and drive the steam engine - or turbine in a real generating station - (kinetic energy) which in turn drives the generator (electrical energy) to light the LED lamp (light energy). My only complaint is that it takes 20 minutes or more of technician time for a classroom demonstration lasting no more than a couple of minutes.
