Lit by the Benenden fireworks bonfire

A wild day in East Sussex. Wind and rain most of the day. A good start with a coffee and scone at the Hub in Bodiam was followed by a visit to an outdoor shop in Hastings for Susan to buy a raincoat as she’d somehow left her coat at home.

Suitably attired we walked along Hastings seafront to the pier and back to the old town and George Street the up to the car which we parked by up by the castle.

This evening we went to the Benenden bonfire and fireworks event. A huge bonfire, with a guy and excellent fireworks which were a little subdued owing to low cloud and driving drizzle. Good food too.

Back at the carriage we had cheese and biscuits and maybe a glass or two of red wine while the wind roared around outside.
