Sparklers

Busy day today with a visit from V and dog and N and toddler! They arrived at lunchtime and I had made a big vat of soup and we had bread and cheese followed by bakewell cake. It was good to see them and Cameron was an energetic, welcome distraction. V had bought some fireworks and JC went out to buy another box and we had sparklers in the garden. Not quite the fireworks display I had been used to for the last 16 years but that was then and this is now and it’s ok.

I also spoke to FM and told the girls that I wouldn’t be going on the Bruges trip which they all understood. Maybe next time?
