The back lane

The journey between our village and nearby Waresley has two possible routes. Firstly by the main road - fast and often with big vehicles who struggle through the bends as they go through Waresley. Secondly there is a narrow back lane which drops gently from Waresley into our village. It's about 2 miles max.

So my journey to pilates is via the main road and when returning I complete the circle by going down the back lane. Driving down the lane is like going into a tunnel. The trees arch over and whilst they still have a few leaves and the sun is out they create interesting shadows. When the trees are bare and I start coming down the hill I can see our house in the distance nestling in the lowest part of valley. A lovely sight.
