Nectaring
There was sunshine until about 3pm - blissful, and it was warm. I had to nip into Bantry then came home and did a spot of work in the garden. I was amazed to see Evolybab's butterfly yesterday but when I went down to the apple tree there were four red admirals feasting and flirting on the windfalls. There were also wasps and bees and this fella was not sharing his apple with anyone. Apparently the correct word for this is nectaring. The apples are still providing but not for much longer, though the freezer is full of compote.
Um, and you know I was banging on about bracken yesterday - well all correct, except, as I was hacking it back from around the pond, I realised my photo was not bracken but royal fern ! This does eventually merge with the bracken but ......
