I'll protect you from the Hooded Claw.
This morning I was up early.
That is a lie. I was up at 9.40 (i had set my alarm for 9.45 so in THAT respect it was early.
I have been trying, unsuccessfully 4 times to buy a piece of Pottery from Emma Puddick. I was prepared the morning. Account Open, Shop Open, Bank Account details input. Sit, wait, refresh, refresh refresh.
I put four mugs in my basket, By the time I got to the checkout. There was 1 left. I hit PAY and it was mine.
As I sat luxurating in the joy that I had managed to buy one, My phone rang... I don't normally answer numbers I don't recognise but weirdly, this morning I did.
It was an answerphone message. "You are being alerted that your office has has a alarm trigger. If you require police assistance phone now.
I sat for a moment and thought... John is closer than me. And then I remembered. John, was in Jura. I shouted upstairs to Mein Mann, and he bounced out of the Loo and said "Wait for me, you are not going alone".
When he came downstairs; he had the baseball bat.
I text the Big Boss and said "i'm heading down, (he stays on the other side of the office - but almost 20 miles south, down country roads.) He phoned and said "weirdly I had a number that I didn't recognise but I didn't answer and it stopped after two rings".
I think they must auto - phone us all and whoever picks up is "it".
We got down within 8 minutes of the alert I am like a jaguar when I have a purpose.
We drove round the back of the building, and all was secure. I tried the front door, and it was still locked. Boss phoned again and said he had one of the techie's log into the office, and check the cameras. He was going to watch our progress and was very impressed with Mein Mann's baseball bat.
We walked in, checked all the cupboards, all the doors, all the upstairs, all the loos, and then the warehouses. Not a thing. No where.
I think himself was quite sad. I think he really fancied bopping someone with his stick.
Once I figured how to reset the alarm, we headed home - happy that everything was okay.
We did our shopping then, (still dirty and unwashed) and then headed up to the allotment to plant onions and garlic. My brussels are looking lovely I'm a bit excited by them.
We had a wee wander around the allotment, it was actually really lovely - warm and damp but very slippy underfoot.
Now we are just sitting chilling.....
Feet up. TV on, a little German practise, and then Chinese I think
