Heat

Quiet day, with a run, grocery shopping, a bike ride for J and checking things off the to-do list. Got to listen in to an interesting conference about inclusive and engaging pedagogy tonight.

Although we thought that the heat might not be turned on in our building for a little while since the plan de sobriété énergétique recommended that all buildings wait an additional two weeks before heating as an energy-saving measure, it did come on today.(as the smoke from the chimney of this facing building shows.) Temperatures have dipped below 10C for the first time, so this is definitely welcome but I am worried about energy consumption through the winter months here. (And if you look closely, you'll see that there are lots of windows wide open in the buliding I've photographed...)
