Bookshop is Booka Bookshop in Oswestry. I've known it since it opened. The building it was in was a tiny gift shop with beautiful gifts and a wonky wooden floor with creaky floor boards. The arrival of Booka was a success from the day they opened. A tiny little cafe provides awesome drinks and cakes. Improvements over the years include the opening of the first floor, a lift for those who need it and a wider range of books and gifts. It's a great place to unwind, sit on a sofa and read, chat to staff, meet friends, attend author visits and generally chill out. Today we chilled out for an hour or so and smiled at a large group of toddlers with their Mums, listening to a story being read to them, playing with toys and laughing at the funny story. Helping them get down the stairs was a joy looking at their happy faces and chatting to their Mums.
Did I buy a book? Not today, but I did buy a 2023 calendar. Next time eh
