Special memories

The photo, standing on E.’s table is holding very special memories. E isn’t someone who holds on to souvenirs, but when reorganizing his room a bit today he was very clear: this photo must be back on the table, right were it was before.

The photo is from the first party on the secondary school, after 3 months of school.

going to this school was an adventure, because E had always attended a mythyl school until then. E was also only 10 years old at the time, sat in a wheelchair and entered a class full of 12 year olds. as parents we thought this was a very exciting step because how would the class react? teachers of the mytyl school and the new school did not foresee any problems, and dared to start the schoolyear with E. three months later it was party time. And then you get this photo from one of the other parents, with a note from a number of parents: how nice that our children can learn so much from E!

the photo was taken by E's best friend's father. R was professional photographer. at his request, the photo was part of an exhibition of his work. the exhibition was the last of his life, R died in the months that followed.

E and the friend and classmates still have a lot of contact.
