I had a great day.
Sam had a great day. 
The light, again, was glorious.
The colors, the oranges, yellows, and reds, were beautiful.
The view out my window, of trees in my yard and trees in the distance, was lovely. 
Work was good. 
I'm grateful. 

The US DOD plans to send VAMPIRE counter-drone systems to Ukraine by mid-2023. It stands for Vehicle-Agnostic Modular Palletized ISR Rocket Equipment. It is designed to be low cost and can fit in a pickup truck. 

Some Russian soldiers are fleeing the frontlines and hiding in abandoned houses. Not only is Russia sending them with no training and no or shoddy equipment, it isn't paying them their promised bonuses. The Institute for the Study of War says the debt is likely to strain the Russian economy for decades. There are videos showing troops arguing that they haven't been given the 300,000 rubles that they were promised for enlisting. A video on Telegram on October 31 supposedly shows a brawl between contracted soldiers and drafted soldiers over personal belongings and military equipment. Russian soldiers have begun calling their combat vehicles, "aluminum cans." Russia is losing them at a rapid rate, roughly 40 a day. 

Russia's monthly economic downturn continued in September. GDP fell 5% year on year. 

Russian spies have red hair. This can't, strictly speaking, be true of all of them. Marvel comics created Natasha Romonava in 1964 as a red-head Russian spy. We got to see Maria Butina who infiltrated the National Rifle Association - red-head. In 2010 Anna Chapman was arrested - red-head. 

A team of investigators has unmasked a deep-cover Russian spy who spent a DECADE posing as a Latin American jewelry designer. She partied with NATO staff in Naples. Her alias was Maria Adela Kuhfeldt Rivera and she was supposedly born in Peru. Brunette.
