Village health
This photograph today from IMPACT Bangladesh shows a boy with his family's new toilet.
IMPACT takes grassroots action to improve the lives and health of people living in the poorest villages of Meherpur and Chuadanga districts. A similar blueprint for health is followed in each village: clean arsenic-free water is made more accessible and latrines are installed in the poorest households; healthcare is provided through satellite clinics; key health messages are promoted through health education and the setting up of Mothers' Clubs; and home gardens help boost nutrition.
