Today's the day ........................ to see red

It has been a lovely, and prolonged, autumn here so far - and there was still plenty of colour to be seen at NTS Threave Gardens today.

It wasn't just the leaves on the trees either, although they were pretty spectacular.  The bark on the Eucalyptus pauciflora (see extra) looked as if someone had been at it with a paintbrush - and even the fallen leaves on the ground were making their own multi-coloured carpets.

And with a bit of luck, hopefully it will last a week or two longer yet ...................
