Retraining
A few weeks ago I received a letter from the constabulary informing me that I had been observed travelling at 46mph in a 40mph zone. I was on a big A road which for most of its length can be driven at the national speed limit, and failed to notice that along a short section a lower limit now applied.
So fair enough, this morning I found myself on a three hour online driver retraining course, with a number of other miscreants. I must apply “coast” at all times in future - concentrate, observe, anticipate, space* and time.
I hadn’t taken any photos today, so at dusk I took myself off for a very short walk to take some photos of the nearest speed limit signs, to mark part of today’s preoccupations. Only 10 minutes or so but worth it also for the rising moon, which travelling at 2228mph as it orbits the earth is obviously more consistent than I am.
* I misspelt this first time, so it read “specs” and not “space”. I can confirm that I do wear my specs when driving M’lud.
