Catching up after a lovely holiday to Shikoku with TeaLuke

After yesterday's exertions, we spent a quiet recuperative day in Matsuyama, having a lie-in and taking a turn about the town. Here you can see Dogo onsen, one of the oldest in Japan. It was the inspiration for the main bathhouse in the Ghibli film, Spirited Away, and it is said that it was discovered during the ancient time of the gods, when an injured white heron dipped its leg in the healing waters and was cured. Tomorrow, we'll take a dip - here's hoping for my saddlesores!
