Soaked

I went for blood tests this morning and was queueing outside of the car park for at least 25 minutes. I usually park on one of the side streets because the car park is always full but I drove around all the side streets twice and there wasn't one space!
Brief visit to Terry's sister Teresa and a bit of a chinwag there before home for lunch.
I was fed up this afternoon, feeling unwell and brooding about what could be wrong with me so I thought I should get out to take my mind off it. It was raining and blowing a gale but it looked like it was brightening up so I put the waterproof jacket on and set off walking.
I discovered two things on this walk - it was not brightening up but going worse and my jacket is not fully waterproof.
Why I carried on I've no idea but I think I was just determined to have a walk! It's not a big walk - around 1.8 miles.
Arrived at Terry's shop like a drowned rat - his face was a picture!  I am sure he thought I was mad - even I thought I was.
Jacket off, sat on a towel to soak some of the wet and chatted to Terry as he worked till not far off closing time when he shut up shop and we went home. He'd done all he could without starting a new project and it was unlikely that anyone would come in now, in the last few minutes, especially with torrential rain and the gale.
Road works were causing problems on the way home ie traffic queues but I was just glad to be in the car and not outside.
I have lots to do in the garden and can't get to do it for rain.
