rainy day

Lots and lots of rain today, and great gusts of wind as well.

I did get out first thing, leaving with D when the roofers arrived and walking home from Irongray Church (just under 3 miles). The roofers had all abandoned ship when I got back, which was a good move on their part. It was not a day to mess around high up with slates.

So I did most of the things in this cartoon (from a magazine which Joanna gave me). Bright coat (don't do umbrellas), stepping out in the rain and splashing in the puddles, making lots of hot drinks to stay warm,  coorieing up in a chair with my book ("Shuggie Bain" by Douglas Stuart - it's brilliant), listening to the wind and rain and watching it run down the windows. Also made a nut roast and a banana and cashew slice for tea, sorted out photos on the laptop, lit the fire and enjoyed being indoors.

It'll soon be time for Netflix in the blanket fort...
