More Irishness
Irish number plates made and fitted (in the rain, of course), by a wonderfully cheerful chap at Halfords in Galway.
I spent the morning sorting out the insurance to have the correct registration number, and paying the road tax of €120 - the same price for all private cars, as far as I could make out - no special concession for electric vehicles such as we had in the UK. Oh well, we all drive on the same roads.
W has just put the rubbish out, paddling through the puddles, but not moved the bins to the gate as it's been a bit blowy (understatement here!) and our neighbour's bin had blown over, spreading recycling all round the back yard. We're having a day out tomorrow, despite the forecast of yet more rain. We'll move the bins first thing and hope that's early enough - they're both less than half full, so will take another 2 weeks rubbish if they miss the bin men!
