A grey wagtail in the River Frome
I wandered down to Fromebanks and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust were doing 'maintenance' on their reserve which included heqvy lopping of overhanging branches and chainsaw a-plenty. It wasn't quiet.
I was grateful to see this grey wagtail hopping along on the stony bottom of the very shallow River Frome, occasionally leaping into flight to catch an insect just above the water. The water is distinctly low at the moment which is a worrying sign.
I'll have to come back another day for a proper dose of the quiet sanctuary of Fromebanks.
