Exploring Sarasota

So this morning it was back to four of us, and Jen was leaving us late afternoon. In the morning we went walking at Terra Ceia Preserve at the southern entrance to Tampa Bay. We passed one lady with her dog, otherwise it was very quiet. Then we decided to drive into Sarasota and do a walking tour we found online. This proved to be quite an interesting walk, taking us through some areas we hadn’t visited before, past some great murals and a great children's play area the water. Having returned to the car, we still had some time left before going to the airport, which was only about 20 minutes away, so we sat on the chairs in the lower left picture and enjoyed the view and the birds flying overhead.
When Laura Roger and I returned to the island, we went down to the beach to watch the sunset (see extra), then enjoyed a tasty dinner of steak, mushrooms, corn and grilled courgette by the pool, which is most attractive at night, being lit with different coloured lights, so attractive that we were drawn to have a swim once our meal had settled!
