Yellow spindles
The lawn is having a good year for fungi. These little beauties are golden spindles Clavulinopsis fusiformis. Other common names for this species include Yellow Spindle Coral, Golden Fairy Spindle, Tongues of Flame, and Slender Golden Fingers.
Extra. It is also proving to be a good year for slime moulds and we are currently playing host to several colonies of the dog vomit (a.k.a. the scrambled egg) slime mould Fuligo septica.
