Everlasting
I took myself off to RHS Wisley today for lunch and a walk. For a change the Autumn fungi were not my main focus (in fact I only saw one specimen worth shooting), instead I enjoyed the last of the flowers.
These buds are Everlasting Flowers or Strawflowers. They have a straw-like texture and really do last as cut flowers without water for ages. Here they are growing among the heather collection and are nicely backlit by the afternoon sun. They are not large, so hopefully just about qualify to today's Tiny Tuesday challenge.
