Tuesday: Hurricane Shutters

So, as I mentioned yesterday, I have some colleagues visiting from Guyana and London.  We managed to have a couple of the meetings we had scheduled but the rest have all been cancelled on account of the impending hurricane.

I’ve brought them back to Belmopan and we are now holed up in the house until the storm passes.  K and Lily, the housekeeper, have done an amazing job of getting supplies in and cooking up food in advance. I popped out to get a few supplies in and the supermarkets were busier than I’ve seen them.

The five of us will ride it out here.  We have another visitor from the UK here and he is staying with my colleague as we don’t think his guesthouse is safe.

Hurricane shutters are up on the office and clubhouse so let’s see what tomorrow brings.
