Unwind with Wool

Every Tuesday afternoon in November I'm attending a series of workshops organised by Gwlan-Llangollen Wool and 3 Counties Connected Community Rail Partnership, at Llangollen Railway. All to do with a proposed project celebrating the role of the railway between Barmouth and Shrewsbury carrying and delivering wool. Today's session was Wet Felting. I've never wet felted before but was keen to try it. Lots of fun, pretty easy but messy! This is my effort. The base is wool from local sheep, and I chose the dark grey rather than cream. I then chose very bright colours to add contrast. Homework was to take the piece home and rinse all the soap out of it and dry it flat. I'm then going to stitch or needle felt a design onto it, possibly a dragonfly. The blip is my piece drying and being well guarded by Tyson.
