STD

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

"You sound like you both have STD's."

This was Jefe, talking to me and Corrie. All three of us were in the office today.

"I BEG your pardon???" said Corrie.

"Short term disease," he clarified.

"Ooooohhhh," we responded.

It was hard to deny. We both leave Kāinga Ora in the next few weeks and our GAF-meters are broken. Corrie especially, who has not been enjoying work ever since Project Gromit ended, is visibly demob-happy.

As if to prove Jefe's point, Corrie, Ellie and I went for breakfast where Ellie explained she was tired from being unable to switch off her brain last night.

"MONKEYS BEHIND THE WHEEL, SYMON!" she told me. "MONKEYS BEHIND THE WHEEL! THAT'S WHAT MY BRAIN WAS LIKE!"

She got hungry at 2am and fed herself left over salad, with blue cheese sauce.

"Actually it was more like blue cheese sauce with a bit of salad," she confessed. "Okay. Okay. Okay. It was more like I was just drinking blue cheese sauce."

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DID TO MY LOWER INTESTINE? DO YOU? DO YOU?" she reiterated.

She recounted tales of farts so toxic and sulphurous that she needed to open windows and leave the bedroom so AJ wasn't poisoned.

Sadly, that was about all the Ellie-time I got today. She was REALLY busy all day. But I was able to scoop up Briar and Corrie for a game of Skip-Bo at lunchtime.

As it turns out, Briar had played before and is in fact a bit of a Skip-Bo diva.

"NOOOOOOOO!!!" she howled when I played the wrong card from the wrong pile.

"Sorry. Now you are getting to meet the real me," she confessed.

Nevertheless, I won anyway. Ha.

After that I had a lovely meeting with Lovely Team Jess. My time with this team comes to an end on FRIDAY. It's a blow as I really enjoy their company. But I came up with a sneaky plan that they could request my time as a BA from Team Ellie instead.

This would mean I can continue working with them until my contract ends in 4 weeks. It's not much, but better than nothing.

At the end of the day, I caught up for impromptu beers with Jefe. The poor guy and Manda are having a stressful time. There's been a whole flatting debacle which I will not give you the details on, but he seemed happy to be able to get it off his chest.

I caught the train home and listened to another of Briar's playlists and then Caro picked me up from the station. She doesn't have to do that but it makes her happy. And it makes me even happier.

So today was a nice day of feeling warm and fuzzy down below.

That could just be my STD, however.

S.
