Half blown

The hundreds of dandelions which suddenly appeared in my garden last week have now turned to seed heads(why are they called clocks?). It's amazing to see the metamorphosis that takes place within the very structure of the flower.
I have rather foolishly signed up to do a sponsored 10k walk next month. To some of you that would be just a stroll in the park but for me it is quite a challenge. I need to train for it so I have worked out a route from my house and so far have been able to do about 6k. by going a little further each time. Hopefully another 6 weeks will see me get to the finish line.
