Happy Halloween or Samhain
these are daytime and night time pics of my porch and the spooky witchy thing before and after I added the hat.
The Halloween holiday has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced “SAH-win”), a pagan religious celebration to welcome the harvest at the end of summer, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts
Had a few trick or treaters early but the rain started and it poured down so ended the visitors. The Trick or Treat Idea really came from America. we never had that over in England even up to when my grandchildren were young, it's a fairly new thing.
I decorated the porch etc, took up the geraniums in the window box and replanted them in tubs in the greenhouse, and planted lots of daffs in their place, so a busy day.
