One year ago today I went into hospital to have my right cancerous kidney removed. One year on and I’m loving life. I’m profoundly grateful to the NHS for the excellent care I received. I’m grateful for Tim and his never-faltering love and support. He has stood by me, held my hand and made me laugh all the way through. I’m grateful to all the many friends, colleagues and acquaintances who have wished me well. And I’m grateful to Lefty, my remaining kidney, who is doing better than some with two kidneys.
