Quake and Quail
Alistair gave me these tiny eggs at the weekend as I couldn't stop marvelling at them. He's kept chickens, runner ducks and now quails (his Dad was a cattle farmer in Australia) so it must be in the blood...
They are so beautiful - each one a miniature masterpiece, like a smooth polished stone. I'd keep them just to look at if I could.
I tentatively ate 2 for lunch today, they are more yolky than chicken eggs but look and taste much the same except smaller.
We've still got 12 left to eat so am looking up recipes for Martin to cook tonight.
I had Halloween in mind when I thought of my title.
