Return

Much of today has been spent travelling to Oxford, via London. There I met L at King's Cross and gave her a parcel that arrived after she left and a couple of little things that she realised that she needed for her trip. Once in Oxford I checked into my room in New College and went for a walk as it got dark and the rain started. Tonight I'm dining in New College at High Table, an experience that I've never had before!

In the event, the food was good, and the college hall is very grand, but it wasn't filled with students the way that it was when I was an undergraduate 35 years ago. Afterwards in the Senior Common Room I chatted with another guest and one of the two current Maths fellows.
