A tip from our electrician (which, I must admit, would have been more use to post a couple of days ago)...

1. The circuit breakers in consumer units should be tested at least annually by pressing the little test button on them.

2. If you do this when the clocks change then you won't have to reset the mains-powered clocks any more than you would have had to anyway.
