Truckfest
Take a small boy who is keen on anything that has engines, or wheels, or wings, or a hull and take him to Truckfest. You'd expect an absolutely ecstatic, but curiously not so much. Seemed quite subdued. Hardly got in any big trucks. He did see Lisa from Ice Road Truckers (he would appear to be the perfect demographic for Channel 5 documentaries). He also had his mouth hung open watching the guys from Broke FMX doing jumps on their motorbikes. They were amazing, and the decided dour northern humour was perfect too.
He was certainly keen to see the Monster Trucks crushing cars, which I think was his highlight. The truck here in question is Bigfoot 17. Alledgedly burning 1 gallon of fuel every 56 yards, and with tyres costing £8,000 a set, an expensive hobby this car crushing.
