Happy Birthday, Ellie

Ellie was so happy at her birthday party this afternoon. The Blip photo is of Ellie with her Mommy and her half-sister. (Remember Ellie's mommy placed a baby for adoption two years before Ellie was born; it is an open adoption, and her family wants their daughter to be in a relationship with all of us.) I got permission to show her on Blip. The extra shot is in Ellie's room here at our home; Ellie was in heaven, sharing her toys with her sister and two young cousins. They had so much fun together; Ellie protected the baby, ensuring she was safe. I loved watching and listening to them, but I also enjoyed the conversations with the adults. 

We had a diverse group here, including our older next-door neighbors, Ellie adores, our son's best friend and his granddaughter, and our adult grandson and the adoptive family. We ended up with 21 people here.

Our son provided all the food, including homemade egg rolls, fried shrimp & rice, cherry & apple pies. The candles were on the cherry pie since Ellie doesn't like cake. We had a wonderful time together. All I had to do was provide a big enough clean house...easy!!
