Words On Wisdom From James 3:13-18

It was a full and busy day at FBC.  We spent our Sunday morning, as we always do, coming together as a church body to join our hearts and voices in praise to God.  The choir, along with the orchestra and our other talented accompanists sang, "Yet Not I, But Christ Through Me", a song that is new to many of us.  After more congregational singing, Pastor Wes spoke to us from James 3: 13-18, concerning wisdom, which is not the same thing as knowledge, though it includes knowledge.  James says if anyone thinks he is wise, let him prove it by his good behavior and your deeds living it out in the gentleness of wisdom.  It can sometimes be thought of as meekness, which is not weakness, but power under control.  It can also be thought of in terms of humility when you realize that it is not all about you and what you want.  Pastor Wes even said that the whole point of the sermon could be summed up in verse 13, where James doesn't just suggest that a person who thinks he is wise show it, but puts his demand for proof in the strongest possible terms.  Wisdom is not about having just a correct theology, but having a correct theology that leads to a correct lifestyle.  Pastor Wes has much more to say about how James cautions his readers against arrogance, boasting, jealousy and bitterness in the Live-stream which would be well worth your time to watch.....But our busy day at FBC was not finished when the service was over.  Every year, our church puts together a Harvest Festival as an outreach to the community around us with food, games, a silent auction and activities for all ages just so that we can meet people in the community and they can meet us in a fun environment.  I have included a few pictures from that because we did that this afternoon to early evening....It is still Pinktober and my collage has pink elements, so please click on the link to help fund mammograms for those who cannot afford to pay  https://thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home  It will cost you nothing to click
