Spanish
The funicular taking hotel guests down the cliff to the lovely beach, with Playa San Juan in the background.
After spending a morning in the shade watching the beach activity, we decided to have a drink in the beach bar. MrHCB remembers the delicious dry sherry we had in a square in Cadiz in April and asked for a Manzanilla. He was completely surprised when a pot of camomile tea turned up. Apparently the Spanish for camomile is manzanilla! Luckily for me the Spanish for Aperol Spritz is Aperol Spritz :-)
The strange polythene enclosures on the cliffs have banana plants inside. The whole side of the volcano is covered in banana plantations, but only those near the sea are covered.
